PMA condemns mass transfers of teaching staff

Lahore: The office bearers of PMA Lahore Dr. Muhammad Tanveer Anwar, Dr. Izhar Ahmad Ch., Dr. Shahid Malik, Dr. Asma Yasin, Dr. Kamran Saeed, Dr. Qazi Yasir in joint statement strongly condemned the mass transfers of teaching staff of various medical colleges in the Punjab in sheer violation of settled principles of transfer policy, with PMA.

The office bearers were of the view that at the time when all the medical colleges are facing acute shortage of faculty and they have initiated the recruitment of teaching staff on adhoc basis this kind of transfers are unwarranted and uncalled-for.

This illogical decision of the department has affected a large number of trainee doctors and create a feeling of acute distress and insecurity. It seems that health department is deliberately raising such steps that doctors in distress should leave the country.

Office bearers urge the Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take serious notice of the mass transfer orders to ease out the large No. of doctors working in the public medical colleges.
