Lahore: Provincial Minister for Environment and Chairman Police Reforms Committee, Col. (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada has said that all arrangements have been completed in the light of the decisions of the cabinet committee to prevent any untoward incident during Muharram ul Harram.
In a statement issued here today, the Minister said that all possible steps would be taken for maintaining law and order and religious harmony during Muharram. He said that there is a heavy responsibility on Ulema to play their due role for promoting tolerance and restraint as well as an atmosphere of Ittehad Bain ul Muslemeen during this month.
The Minister said that the mourning processions will be taken out in accordance with the schedule and special security arrangements have been made for this purpose. He said that heavy police force will be deployed for providing foolproof security cover to Muharram congregations and mourning processions.
The Minister further said that control rooms will be set up for monitoring security arrangements throughout the province during Muharram ul Harram and parking space will be allocated at a distance from Majalis as a security measure.
