Dengue can be controlled through preventive measures

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food, Bilal Yasin has said that dengue virus can be controlled through preventive measures. He stressed upon the people to adopt preventive measures as prevention is better than cure.

He said this while presiding over an anti-dengue meeting. AC Abdullah Nayyar, TMO Ravi Town, DDO Health and officers of Dengue Control Cell were present on the occasion.

Bilal Yasin directed the staff of Dengue Control Cell to work round-the-clock for eradication of dengue. He said that the surveillance in those union councils where number of affected persons is higher should be doubled. The Minister said that the number of affected persons in Union Councils 71 and 79 of Data Gunj Bakhsh Town is higher, therefore, he will himself conduct surveillance with the staff there.

Bilal Yasin said that Punjab government has taken steps on emergent basis for dengue control. He said that all resources have been utilized for this purpose due to which this fatal virus is being controlled. Provincial Minister said that civil society will have to play its role for eliminating this virus otherwise this dangerous virus can again spread. He advised the citizens to adopt preventive measures in their houses and carry out mosquito spray. He said that dengue control teams of all towns are also carrying out anti-mosquito spray due to which the mosquito is being eradicated.
