Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said, the release of the US aid to Pakistan was closely linked with the Obama- Nawaz meeting and in return, Washington would press for additional conditionalities and ask for Do More.
Commenting on the reports that the US had decided to release $ 1.6 billion to this country, he said, this decision at this moment was not without a motive. He said, the loans from the IMF and the World Bank besides the US aid were in fact the snares of US slavery and had proved to be death warrants for the country’s self reliance and economy.
And as long as the nation did not get rid of these, the independence, and sovereignty as well as the economic progress of the country would be at stake.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that if only corruption was weeded out from the country, we could live as a prosperous nation. However, he said, that the rulers were carrying the begging bowl because of which the country had lost its prestige and respect in the world. Foreign loans and US aid had brought disgrace and insult to the country and the nation, he added.
He said this was simply an announcement of the release of the US aid and its payment would start next year, which clearly meant that the US charity in the form of dollars would depend on Islamabad’s compliance with the US terms and conditions.
He said, the stoppage and the release of the US aid entirely depended on Washington’s mood and was closely related to the American interests.
Meanwhile, the JI Ameer expressed grave concern over the continuous hostilities and unprovoked firing by Indian forces at the Line of Control. He said, India was taking undue advantage of Pakistan’s soft policy and repeated desires for friendship from the rulers in Islamabad. This process had been continuing for more than two months, due to which the civil population at Pakistan border was badly affected, innocent civilians were being martyred and thousands had been forced to leave their homes.
Syed Munawar Hasan said India’s hostilities would increase further unless Islamabad decided tit for tat because Indian rulers did not understand the language of peace and love.
He said it was an irony that while India was continuing an aggressive policy, the Indian Foreign Minister was leveling baseless charges against this country.
He stressed upon the government to raise the issue before the UN and said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should also take up the matter in his meeting with US President Obama who was the patron of India.
