Lahore: Provincial Minister for Forest Wildlife & Fisheries, Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan has directed Chief Conservators and Divisional Forest officers to achieve the target of monsoon tree plantation campaign 2013 by September 15 and submit a detailed report regarding the number of saplings planted, as well as functions held for promoting public awareness regarding importance of trees.
In a circular to Chief Conservators of Forest, he stressed upon the officers to display responsibility for ensuring the success of tree plantation campaign in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab. He further directed that officers should also ensure availability of brochures and pamphlets highlighting the importance of tree plantation at the sale points set up in their respective areas.
Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan stressed upon Chief Conservator of Forest and Conservators not to wait for report of divisional forest officers and pay field visits to inspect the saplings planted during monsoon tree plantation campaign. He said that the target of plantation of one crore ten lakh saplings during monsoon tree plantation campaign 2013 should be achieved at any cost. He also stressed upon them to pay attention to the growth and proper care of the saplings planted during the campaign.
