JI demands restoration of Morsi government

pic syed munawar hasan (6)Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the loss of Egypt was the loss of entire Muslim World, and demanded restoration of Morsi government without ifs and buts.

He was addressing a big rally of JI Women Wing on M A Jinnah Road protesting against the army crackdown in Egypt. Thousands of women and children  participated in the rally. They carried JI flags, placards and banners inscribed with “We are with Rabia”, “ We condemn the brutal killing of innocent unarmed people in Egypt by army”, “We are with Morsi and Egyptian people”, “Shame on West, shame on Egyptian Army”.

The protestors also carried the portraits of ousted Egyptian President Morsi and Ikhwan-e-Muslimeen leader Dr Muhammad Badey.

The  JI Ameer said the western world should respect its own norms, i.e. respect democracy instead of dictatorship.

He said the US and other western powers wanted the Muslims to resort to violence for getting their legal rights.

“General Sisi is promoting terrorism in Egypt, as his strategy has pushed thousands of people in jail”, he added.

“We condemned the massacre in Egypt and are afraid that a massive Islamic movement would   begin if the Morsi government is not restored in Egypt”, he warned,

On the occasion, JI Ameer asked leading media owners which forces stopped them from giving coverage to the current situation in Egypt.

Syed Munawar Hasan termed the address of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as wastage of 180million hours of 180million population of the country, adding that the Prime Minister had failed to present any effective strategy before the nation.

He called for an APC to address the rising terrorism and extremism issues.

JI Sindh Chief Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, JI Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, JI Karachi General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui and others also spoke on the occasion. Naib JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Nasrullah Shajih, Younus Barai and other JI leaders were also present on the occasion.
