Lahore: Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf has said that as many as 1956 flood affectees are staying in 56 relief camps set up by PDMA where the administration is providing them eatables regularly. He said that a complete survey would be conducted to assess the damages caused by flood. He said that a report would also be sought from the administration regarding illegal dwellers residing at banks of streams and nullahs and not shifting them from there.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting held in connection with provision of relief activities. DG PDM, Director Operation and Relief Coordinators were also present on the occasion.
Relief Commissioner told the meeting that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, flood affectees have been provided 21702 tents, 83300 food hampers, 790500 kg rice, 450000 kg flour, 190500 bottles of mineral water, 8000 mosquito nets, 25 de-watering sets, 26 fiber boats, 100 life jackets, 2942 cartons of dates and 6000 blankets in five districts of Rajanpur, DG Khan, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Mianwali and Sialkot. He said that relief items have has also been dispatched to Muzaffargarh, Kasur, Jhang, Chiniot, Mandi-Bahauddin, Okara, Leyyah, Multan, Nankana Sahib, Gujransala and Hafizabad districts.
