Nandipur power project has been restored: Kh Ahmad Hassan

Lahore: Visit of Prime Minister Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to China will prove a milestone for the development of Pakistan in energy and social sectors.

Restoration of Nandipur power project is an excellent achievement of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.  An initial agreement has been made with the Chinese government construction company for construction of metro bus system and underground bus service in five big cities of the province Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala.

This was stated by Senior Leader of PML-N Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan while addressing a meeting of party workers. He said that successful visit of Prime Minister Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to China would not only further strengthen relations between China and Pakistan but also open new avenues of development of Pakistan. He said that immediate implementation on the agreements made between Punjab government and Chinese companies is a good omen. Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan said that after coming into power, the Chief Minister Punjab showed extra-ordinary interest in Nandipur power project to rid the people of Punjab of load-shedding. The Chief Minister held a long meeting with the officials of a renowned Chinese company and ultimately persuaded them due to which Chinese engineers have restarted work on Nandipur power project.

Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is determined to rid the people of the province of load-shedding. That is why he not only met the heads of private organizations, investors and companies and convinced them to cooperate with the Pakistani government for eliminating electricity crisis but he also held meetings with the Chinese leaders and officials which has started yielding positive results. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif have assured the Chinese investors for providing all facilities and protection to the investment in trade and other sectors. He said that due to this reason Chinese experts will extend complete cooperation in various sectors including solar energy projects.

Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan said that various agreements have been signed between Punjab government and China in infrastructure and energy sectors which is an important development. He said that the cooperation of Chinese officials and experts for running modern transport system in big cities of Punjab is commendable.
