Tax system should simplified: minister directs officials

Lahore:Punjab Minister for Excise & Taxation and Finance Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has directed the officials of Excise & Taxation Department to take steps for simplifying the token and property tax collection system. The Minister also considered the collection of token and other taxes through banks so that people could deposit their taxes in any online branch of concerned bank throughout province.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting for improving the tax collection system. Secretary Excise & Taxation, Secretary Law Abul Hassan Najmi, Additional Secretary Finance, Director General Excise & Taxation and officials of Bank of Punjab attended the meeting. The Minister stressed upon the field officers to create awareness among the people in connection with timely depositing taxes. He said that officers displaying best performance for collecting taxes will be encouraged.
