I have come to China for seeking cooperation for eliminating energy crisis in Pakistan: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that he has come to China for seeking cooperation for eliminating energy crisis in Pakistan and he is hopeful from this visit. He was talking at a reception held in his honor and his delegation after arriving China.

Shahbaz Sharif said that energy and infrastructure are the priorities of his visit and it would be his endeavour to get practical cooperation of Chinese government and investors besides benefiting from the experiences of China in both sectors. That is why Pakistani investors have been included in the delegation, he added. The Chief Minister said that besides various meetings between Punjab government and Chinese officials, meetings have also been arranged for the investors of both sides.

Shahbaz Sharif said that he would himself participate in these meetings. He said that besides launching a crusade against energy crisis, Punjab government is also actively engaged in the development of infrastructure in the province and expressed his desire that after Lahore, projects like metro bus could also be launched in other big cities of the province with the cooperation of China. Similarly, Chinese cooperation will also be sought in connection with Ring Road Projects in big cities of the province, he added.

Responding to a question about the visit of China by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister said that this visit of Prime Minister would prove to be an important milestone in the journey of Pak-China friendship. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif expressed his belief that as a representative of a transparent government having people’s confidence, the visit of Prime Minister will open new horizons of lasting and useful cooperation between Pakistan and China. He said that the dinner to be hosted in honor of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif by Chinese President has a unique importance in diplomatic tradition and diplomatic circles are giving it extraordinary importance.
