Only justice can put the country out of crisis: Munawar Hasan

Lahore:  Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has termed the Zardari government’s second letter to the Swiss authorities as a fraud and a blatant attempt to deceive the Supreme Court.

He has demanded a thorough probe into the matter, and exemplary punishment to all those found involved. He was talking to different delegations at Mansoora on Thursday.

The JI Ameer said that the discovery of the fraudulent letter written to the Swiss authorities requesting them not to open the cases against Zardari showed how the PPP regime had been deceiving the courts besides adopting the path of confrontation with the judiciary for securing the decisions in its favour.

He said corruption ranging from Rs. 10 to 15 billion had been going on in the country daily. However, no one could be punished nor were the accused even produced before the courts. In order to check corruption in the future, all those who committed such a big fraud with the apex court be dealt with an iron hand.

The JI Ameer also slated the talk of the serious threats to the country’s politics and the “drowning of the “Muslim Ummah’s Titanic” with the tightening of the noose against the MQM leader in the Imran Farooq murder case. He said that Karachi was continuously burning and dozens of people were being killed daily. However, the police and security agencies were unable to arrest the culprits. The peace of the port city had been shattered and lawlessness and extortion had ruined its economy. Therefore, the government should adopt strict measures to foil the plans of target killings and terrorism in the entire Sindh, especially Karachi and Hyderabad.
