Lahore: A spokesman of Health Department Punjab has said that health department is launching a special anti-measles campaign in 12 specific districts of the province from Monday, 24th June which will continue till July 4th, 2013.
According to the spokesman, during this campaign anti-measles vaccine would be administered to the children from the age of six months to ten years in districts Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Okara, Kasur, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Mianwali, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan. The parents will be able to get their children vaccinated against measles at the nearest health center or mobile teams during this campaign. He said a dose of vitamin A drops will also be given to the children.
The spokesman said a target of vaccination of one crore 20 lakh children against measles has been fixed and anti-measles vaccine will also be administered to the children in primary schools from June 24 to July 4 in specific districts.
