Lahore: Ombudsman Punjab Javed Mahmood has directed the advisors to observe equality among complainants and officers of different departments of Punjab Govt. during course of inquiry and conduct the whole process of inquiry/investigation in such an impartial way that no one could raise doubt about the same. In a circular to all advisors, the Ombudsman Punjab has said that complainants and officers of government present as respondents, both are equal in the eyes of justice and the Advisors as Inquiry/Investigation Officers are bound to give them respect and honour.
Advisors are directed not to be impressed and influenced by the post and position of a government officer during inquiry proceedings and announce bold and logical orders to give relief to the public. They must uphold justice for eliminating maladministration in government departments and guarding rights of the people. Don’t feel fear if officers of government become angry due to your orders in favour of the people, just feel fear of Almighty God to Whom all of us are answerable, said the Ombudsman Punjab. He said that doors of all the offices of Ombudsman are being kept open under “Open Door Policy” just to ensure that people may directly approach to the officers of Ombudsman Punjab without any fear and hindrance. “I will not tolerate if the complainants found sitting on benches outside and any officer of Punjab government sitting with protocol in the office of advisor”, warned Ombudsman Punjab Javed Mahmood.
