Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the terrorist activities in Quetta and Mardan causing heavy death toll clearly indicated that Pakistan’s enemies had stepped up their activities to bring the new government under pressure and to pit the government and the national institutions against each other.
In a statement here on Wednesday, he urged the new rulers to scrutinize each and every policy, learn from the mistakes made in the past, and immediately discard the policies that had proved harmful for the country and the nation.
He said it had been proved beyond doubt that Pervez Musharraf’s decision to yield to the US dictation was against the independence of the country and its economy and it had widened the gulf between the armed forces and the masses, and virtually paralyzed the security institutions.
Liaqat Baloch urged the new government to review the foreign and domestic policies and try to get rid of the IMF slavery. He said the US and NATO forces had been defeated in Afghanistan and they should not be allowed to deepen their roots in this country, and all internal and external enemies must be crushed with an iron hand.
