Lahore: Punjab Minister for Health Khalil Tahir Sindhu, has said that required funds will be provided for the provision of modern and quality health facilities to the people. He said that monitoring will be made at provincial, district and tehsil level on daily basis for ensuring availability of treatment facilities to the masses. He said that a complaint cell is also being set up at the office of Health Minister where complaints can be lodged personally or on telephone. He said that efforts will be made on war footing for improving health system in rural and urban areas and he will pay surprise visits to various hospitals of the province for this purpose. He said that diagnostic laboratories of tehsil, district and rural health centers will be made functional so that people could benefit from test facilities at the local level free of cost.
He was talking to media-men after paying a surprise visit to emergency and children wards of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. The Minister also inquired from the patients and their attendants about the treatment facilities available at the hospital. Majority of patients informed the Minister that medical facilities and medicines are being provided to them free of cost. The Minister also issued instructions to the hospital administration for addressing the complaints brought to his notice.
Khalil Tahir Sindu asked doctors and paramedical staff to perform their duties with a missionary spirit. He said that revolutionary measures should be taken for revamping health sector and in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, funds will be provided on priority basis for ensuring modern health facilities to the masses in the province.
