CM set example of simplicity in first cabinet meeting

Lahore:  Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif addressed in a very comprehensive manner to the first meeting of Punjab cabinet at Committee Room of Civil Secretariat today and informed the provincial ministers in detail about the causes and reasons of excellent success of PML-N in general elections.

The Chief Minister compared general elections of 1997 and 2008 with general elections of 2013 minutely with arguments upon which, cabinet members highly appreciated. A practical example of simplicity and saving was set in the first meeting of cabinet. Provincial Ministers were served with tea and biscuits only and air-conditioners were also switched on after 11.00 a.m.

The Chief Minister while stressing upon the provincial ministers to serve the people, said that they are fully empowered in the performance of their duties and all policies would be framed with their consultation.

When the Chief Minister arrived at committee room for participation in the meeting, he shook hands individually with all the ministers and officers. The Chief Minister told that he had been doing politics outside the assembly from 1985 to 1988, however, he had done politics by remaining in the assembly since 1988. He said that human beings make mistakes and if a person does not make mistake, he can become angel.

Shahbaz Sharif presented various examples of service, trust and honesty during his address and made extempore speech for 45 minutes instead of a written one. At the end of his address, he read his following favourite couplet:
