Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has strongly condemned the criminal silence of the United Nations, other world bodies as also the international media on the genocide of the Myanmar Muslims and said these institutions were only watching the interests of the non Muslims and the aggressive powers.
In a statement here on Tuesday, he has called upon the Muslim world and the UN to convene an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council to save the Myanmar Muslims from extinction. He has also called for an emergency meeting of the OIC to take up the issue and to warn the Myanmar rulers of strong reaction if it did not give up its unholy designs against its Muslim population.
Syed Munawar Hasan appealed the nation to express its solidarity with the oppressed Myanmar Muslims by joining the JI protest on Friday, June 14.
The JI Ameer said that lakhs of Myanmar ( Arakan) Muslims had been murdered insides their homes and mosques during the last several months but the champions of human rights have shut their ears to their cries because in their eyes, the Muslims had no rights at all. The Roohangya Muslims who had been living in Myanmar( Arakan) for centuries were being ejected from their houses by force and their habitations were being burnt along with the dwellers in order to cause terror and harassment.
He said it was most shameful that the Muslims rulers, who were morally bound to come to the help of the oppressed brethren in Myanmar, were acting as the agents of Islam’s enemies.
