Nawaz Sharif should clear his policy about India: Munawar Hasan

Syed Munawar HassanLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has called for an immediate explanation from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in regard to the US deputy Secretary of State Robert Black’s statement that Premier Nawaz Sharif was ready to give India the Most Favourite Nation status and for a breakthrough on the Kashmir issue.

In a press statement here on Sunday, he said that statements from US high ups indicated that Washington was intensifying its pressure on the newly elected government to accept India’s supremacy in the region. However, he said, if the Prime Minister yielded to the US pressure and tried to detract on the nation’s principled stance on Kashmir, he would be axing his own feet and such a step would also be against the public mandate. The Kashsmiris were sacrificing their lives to free Pakistan’s jugular line from the enemy hold , therefore, Mian Nawaz Sharif should not show any  weakness on the Kashmir issue nor fall in India’s trap on this score. .

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the JI was not averse to solving the issues through dialogue but India’s track record in this respect was bleak. The ground reality was that India had used talks to protect its interests, but had never been serious in solving the issues. India had  not accepted Pakistan as an independent country and had always been trying to eliminate this country. It had thrust three wars on this country to achieve its heinous goals and had played the key role in the break up of Pakistan in 1971.

The JI Ameer said that the US wanted India’s control in this region before its departure from Afghanistan but Pakistan’s was the biggest hurdle in its way. Therefore,  it was pressurizing this country on this count and wanted the newly elected government  to forget the Kashmir and river waters issues and accept India as big brother.

Syed Munawar Hasan pointed out that India had massacred over one lakh Kashmiris during the last 60 years and was keeping ten million Kashmirs as slaves.

The Kashmiris had launched a freedom movement after the United Nation’s failure to implement its resolutions for the right to self determination, and India’s continuous unlawful occupation of the state. He said the Pakistani nation and previous governments had been supporting the Kashmiris liberation struggle on  moral grounds. However, it appeared that the new government had forgotten India’s atrocities on the Kashmiris, and its water terrorism against this country aimed at rendering this country completely barren.

However, the nation would never accept India’s friendship at the cost of Kashmir and river waters.
