Lahore: The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Sunday took strong exception of the statement of Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif in which he dubbed all CNG operators as thieves.
The baseless statement indicates non-serious, unethical and childish attitude of the minister who has used non-parliamentary language which was never expected from him, it said.
Masses have not voted PML-N to power to listen to baseless allegations and false statements but to get their longstanding problems resolved, said Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Chairman Supreme Council APCNGA in a statement issued here today.
He said that theft in the CNG sector is nominal while majority of those involved in stealing gas are influential politicians.
No government would ever take action against crooked politicians but blame others for their faults which is hypocrisy, he said.
Unlike claims, the CNG sector is using 256 mmbtu gas which is only 6.1 per cent of the whole production but lobbies have targeted this sector, he said.
Paracha said that all the theft by influential CNG operators would be around 3-4 mmbtu while others sectors are stealing gas worth billion with the help of officials and politicians since long. No action has never been taken against them, he lamented.
Stealing gas or electricity on massive scale is beyond the imagination of common man; it needs right connections which is an open secret, he added.
Ghiyas Paracha said that some elements have been misguiding masses about the CG sector while using false figures and some politicians have been issuing childish statements which reflects badly on their credibility.
He hoped that APCNGA and government will soon resolve all the outstanding haunting CNG sector.
