Portable water a distant dream for residents of Ichra

Lahore:  Portable water has become a distant dream for the residents of Shah Jamal and Ichra. “We are passing through a very hard time due to the unavailability of water. Most of the times we don’t have water to drink even,” a resident of Fazlia Colony, Nadeem said. “Despite the fact that generator runs on daily basis with millions of rupees diesel monthly,” he said adding that the water Fazlia Colony Wasa tube-well is supplied willfully to the posh areas of Jamia Asrafi and Shadman in connivance with the Wasa high ups.

Residents said that the acute shortage of water has forced the residents to live without taking a in a day in such a hot weather.

Another resident Ashfaq said that water bills comes without any delay but water doesn’t come to the pipelines.

“Most of the time I take bath with a very little quantity of water” he said.

 The residents said that Wasa high ups have no fear of Allah Almighty and forcing the people to live without the water. They said that they have complained to the concerned SDO and Exen but they have always turned a deaf ear to the residents’ grievance
