Lahore: Punjab thrashed with 7 Gold and 8 silver medals in U-16 girls as well as bagged 6 gold and 7 silver in U-14 boys to win the lead in Inter-provincial Athletics Championship on it’s final day ,ended here at Punjab Stadium,Lahore.In U-16 girls events,Punjab attained aggregated 89 points having first position ,Khyberpakhtunkhua grabbed second position with 38 points while Sindh managed 34 points overall and came third.In U-14 boys events,Punjab collectively made 89 points,Khyberpakhtunkhua won 40 and Fata got 34 points.
The Director General Sports Punjab Dr.Mohammed Salah Tahir was the chief guest who distributed cash prizes,trophies and certificates among the winners.
In the 100 M race: Humayon of Fata grabbed first position, Mohammed Husnain of of Punjab attained second position while Chand Waseem of Punjab got third position.In the 400 Meters Chand Waseem of Punjab secured first position,
Amir Abbas of Punjab won second position and Mohammed Faizan of KPK maintained third position. In 400 meters girls: Javeria Kiran of Punjab snatched first position Afeera Naz of Punjab secured second and Islamabad’s Rimsha Rizwan was third.In the end ,the chief guest Director General Sports Punjab Dr.Mohammed Salah Tahir congratulated the winners and handed over the cash prizes amounting Rs.15000 each to Javeria Kiran of Punjab as Best U-16 Athlete and Best U-14 Athlete Chand Waseem of Punjab.Muskaan of Fata was awarded with special cash prize of Rs.5000.
