LHC seeks action against two advocates

Lahore High Court has asked the Punjab Bar Council to look into the misbehaviour of two advocates with the members of the district judiciary.

LHC has sent two letters to the Secretary Punjab Bar for initiating action against Mr. Kamran Bashir Mughal, Secretary General, Lahore Bar Association and Mr. Qamar Shahid Meo advocates.

The complaint against Mr. Qamar Shahid Meo addressed to the Secretary Bar is based on a reference sent by District & Sessions Judge, Lahore, that a Judicial Magistrate Model Town, Lahore dismissed post-arrest bail application filed by the said advocate who along with his companions came to the Court, misbehaved with the staff and seriously injured Toqeer Abbas, Process Server and also fractured his arm. Copies of Dailies City 42, Nawa-e-Waqt, Pakistan and Nai Baat reporting illegal act of Mr. Qamar Shahid Meo, advocate in Model Town Courts, Lahore with the learned judicial Officers and their staff have also been sent to PBC as supporting material to the said event. PBC has been asked to initiate disciplinary proceedings immediately against the said advocate, under intimation to the LHC, letter maintains.

While in another letter misbehavior of Mr. Kamran Bashir Mughal, advocate, Secretary General Lahore Bar Association has been reported, who appeared in a fresh appeal and pressed for interim relief, suspending the status-quo order of the trial Court. He also entered the retiring room of the Judge and threatened him. Later on, Lahore Bar Association observed full day strike and the Court of Mr. Khalid Mehmood Bhatti, Additional District & Session Judge was locked by a number of junior advocates. PBC has been directed to look into the matter and take further necessary action.

Both the above said letters have been received by Mr. Jibron Khalil, section officer of the Punjab Bar Council today.
