Sardar Waqas Hassan Mokal will contest Deputy Speaker election

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Punjab Parliamentary Leader Moonis Elahi has announced that for the office of Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Sardar Waqas Hassan Mokal will be the party’s candidate.

As per his direction, MPAs Sardar Asif Nakai and Sameena Khawar Hayat have filed nomination papers of Sardar Waqas Hassan Mokal in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat here today.

In this regard, MPA Sameena Khawar Hayat has said that consultation was held with the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) for the office of the Deputy Speaker, we will fully support PTI candidate for the office of the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and PTI will support our candidate for the office of the Deputy Speaker.

Talking to the media after filing the nomination papers of Sardar Waqas Hassan Moakal, PML MPAs Aamir Sultan Cheema, Sardar Asif Nakai, Dr Mohammad Afzal, Sameena Khawar Hayat and Pir Ahmad Shah Khagga said they will play the role of an effective opposition along with PTI on the issues concerning the people, good things of the government will be appreciated and shortcomings and faults will be forcefully pointed out. They said further that N-League somehow has got the mandate to rule as such it will have to honour all the promises it has made to the people, we as the opposition will not leave the field vacant and neither allow walk over to the govt on any issue.

The PML MPAs expressed the hope that the national electronic and print media will continue to fully provide guidance to the opposition and the people like it has been doing during the last ten years.
