Lahore: In order to provide flour to the people at cheaper rate, Food Department Punjab supplied 10100 atta bags of 20 kg each to 13 Sunday Bazaars in the provincial metropolis, out of which, 6295 bags were sold while 3805 bags were returned.
This was stated by Deputy Director Food Lahore Region Muhammad Hussain Khokhar while presiding over a meeting regarding quality and supply of atta to Sunday Bazaars here today. District Food Officers and other concerned officials were present in the meeting. Muhammad Hussain Khokhar said that on the instructions of government, supply of cheap atta to Sunday Bazaars is continuing regularly and easy availability of flour is being ensured. He said that 700 atta bags of 20 kg each were supplied to Begum Kot out of which 100 bags were returned. Similarly, 1000 atta bags were sent to Karim Block, out of which, 225 were returned, 900 atta bags were sent to Wahdat Colony, out of which, 500 were returned, 1000 bags were sent to Gulshan-e-Ravi and 200 bags were returned, 800 bags were sent to Huma Block, and 252 were returned, 300 bags were sent to Shera Kot and 120 were returned, 600 bags were sent to Islampura and 353 returned, 1500 bags were sent to Main Plaza Johar Town and 500 were returned, 1100 were sent to Model Town and 250 were returned, 350 were sent to Green Town and 150 were returned, 300 were sent to Tajpura Ghazi-e-Abad and 20 were returned, 1000 were sent to Parking Ground Shalimar and 720 were returned, while 550 atta bags were sent to ShadmanSunday Bazaar and 415 were returned.
