Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has stressed that a new power bloc comprising Pakistan, China, Iran and Afghanistan should be formed to pull the country out of the US slavery. He was speaking at a workers convention in the NA 126 area.
The JI leader impressed upon the newly elected rulers to accept every help and assistance offered by Saudi Arabia He however said that the Pak. Iran gas pipe line project should not be abandoned under US pressure.
Liaqat Baloch said that it was the responsibility of the provincial governments to hold local bodies elections without delay. He said that necessary legislation for the purpose should be made and a system granting administrative and financial powers to the local bodies should be evolved for the smooth running of these institutions.
Liaqat Baloch said that the JI accepted the public mandate in the general elections but hoped that the masses would rise above baradari and similar parochial considerations with the passage of time and come closer to the truth.
