Another trader pays 10 millions ransom to Taliban

Lahore: Another local trader has returned home after paying 10 millions ransom to Taliban in Charsadah .Taliban have received more than a billion extortion money in a year from merchants and have killed three traders who refused to pay the extortion money in Lahore.

According to the details Sultan Khan ,a resident of Badami Bagh was killed by Taliban after refusing to pay extortion money.All his family members,friends and near dears advised him to pay money but he preferred to report the matter to the local police.Police not only remained failed to give him security but also they did not register the criminal case against the Taliban for demanding extortion money and when he was killed they lodged a FIR against unknown accused.

After the murder of Sultan Khan ,Taliban kidnapped his brother Saleem Khan and demanded 40 millions ransom and threatened to kill him if they were not being paid.This time ,Saleem Khan’s family did not take any risk and made no mistake to inform the police about this crime and reduce the amount of ransom to 10 millions .They paid the amount in Charsadah and the kidnappers released Salim Khan .

Lahore police sources have revealed that Taliban had killed four persons for not paying extortion money including 2 traders namely Taj Khan a resident of Samanabad and Saeed Khan a resident of Misri Shah.

Sources said that Taliban were collecting millions of RS every month with out any fear from the well-off traders,those who refused to pay they were being threatened and were being targeted.

Police did not registered the complaints of the law abiding citizens who were being marked by Taliban.Most of the time they were humiliated or being made fool in the name of inquiries.Two hundred people paid one billion RS extortion money to Taliban from June 2012 to May 2013 but Police did not register a single case.
