Lahore: Naib Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Sirajul Haq, Senior Minister- designate, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, has said that the newly elected government would have to devise an effective strategy for the defense of the country’s borders and to stop the killing of its innocent citizens in drone attacks.
Talking to media men at the residence of the PTI chairman, Imran Khan, after enquiring after the health of the PTI leader, he said that terrorism and drone attacks were the greatest issue for the whole country, especially the Khyber P, and its effect was being felt right from Karachi, up to Chitral. The newly elected government at the centre and in the Khyber P would have to seek the solution of this issue while rising above party considerations, he added.
Sirajul Haq hoped that the PML(N) Mian Nawaz Sharif would pick up courage and take bold decisions in consultation with the opposition, for bringing normalcy and restoration of peace and stability in the region.
About dialogue with the Taliban, he said, that the blind use of force was resulting in large scale deaths. Therefore, the federal and Khyber P. governments besides the establishment would have to pave way for dialogue. This is no matter of taking credit, it was a purely humanitarian issue which should be solved a the earliest, he added.
To a question, he said in his personal opinion, it was in Pakistan’s own interest to provide a safe exit to the NATO forces, and asked “ Why should we create hurdles if the enemy wants to vacate our home>’’’
Sijarul Haq said that the JI had decided to join hands with the PTI accepting the mandate of the people in the province and for the solution of the peoples problems. He said that denying this mandate was immoral and against political norms.
