Elections rigged in Punjab: Ch Shujat Hussain

Lahore:Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Senator Ch. Shujat Hussain has said that results of election in Punjab have come contrary to the expectations of large number of voters whereas senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of the area for the success of his and Moonis Elahi with big majority.

Both the leaders said this while talking to media at their residence in Gujrat today. On this occasion PML Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed, newly-elected Member of the Punjab Assembly Moonis Elahi, Salik Hussain and other leaders were also present.

PML senior central leaders Ch Parvez Elahi who has been elected with big majority from NA-105 Gujrat said that the people of the area have fully supported us and respected honour of our family, we will continue serving the people. He said that NA-105 seat is our family seat from the time of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed, he had contested election from this seat for the first time, previously Ch Shujat Hussain has been elected MNA from here five times, the day is surely an occasion of happiness for the people of Gujrat and his family.

Ch Parvez Elahi further said that Moonis Elahi has won the election from PP-110 Gujrat which was till now his seat whereas in 2008 he was elected from PP-118 Mandi Bahauddin and now Almighty Allah has blessed Moonis Elahi with success from there also. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all elders, brothers, well-wishers and people of the area on behalf of his party and family who besides him got elected Moonis Elahi with margin of 23 thousand votes from Mandi Bahauddin and 24 thousand votes from Gujrat.

PML President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain in response to a question from the media said on the election day, voters were coming to the polling stations in large numbers, they stood in lines for four hours even expecting and hoping that a change should come and new way should be carved out but when the results came these were contrary to their expectations, let us wait and see what happens next.

PML Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed felicitated Ch Shujat Hussain, Ch Parvez Elahi on the success and on neat and clean and performance-based election campaign. He maintained that our party believes in political and democratic values and we will play positive role in the progress and development of Pakistan in the days ahead.
