Lahore: Former Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif said Tuesday that the people of Punjab would ensure resumption of development works in the province by again voting the PML-N to power on May 11. “The PPP, PTI and PML-Q have invited the criticism of people by opposing development schemes such as Metro Bus Service (MBS), Laptop Distribution Scheme, Ujala Programme and Green Tractor Scheme,” Shahbaz told a public meeting in Alipur.
He said that Imran Khan has criticised the MBS project by ignoring the fact that around 10 million people including students, farmers, labourers, nurses and lawyers have benefited from the bus service. He said that after coming to power, the PML-N government would also launch MBS projects in Karachi, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad.
The former CM said that his government in Punjab had completed all the development schemes despite facing resistance from the federal government. “Punjab was the only province which did not get any monetary assistance from the Centre other than budgetary allocations. On the other hand, Sindh and other provinces were given billions of rupees apart from their budgetary share,” he said.
Shahbaz said that Manzoor Wattoo’s statement that his party would make Imran Khan PM after winning polls had vindicated his claims about an alliance between the PPP, PTI and PML-Q.
