CM inaugurates free emergency ward for children at Fatima Memorial Hospital

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Najam Sethi has said that government is striving for provision of modern health facilities to the masses, controlling viral diseases and improving health standard. He said that philanthropists serving the ailing humanity are selflessly engaged in providing treatment facilities to the deprived segments of the society and held in great respect and esteem.

This was stated by him at the inauguration of free emergency ward for children set up at Fatima Memorial Hospital with the cooperation of Fatima Memorial Trust and Jehan Ara Memorial Trust, here today. Provincial Health Minister Salima Hashmi, Industries Minister Arif Ijaz, Provincial Ministers, Director Fatima Memorial Trust Hospital, doctors, faculty members, Chairperson Jehan Ara Memorial Trust Zareen Arif as well as a number of prominent personalities were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister appreciated modern health facilities and availability of highly qualified doctors at the hospital as well as services of the faculty members. He announced a grant of one crore rupees for the hospital. The Chief Minister announced extension in the lease period of the land being used by the hospital as well as setting up of a nursing school. He assured that decision regarding establishment of Noor International University will be taken in the next meeting of the provincial cabinet.

The Chief Minister presented a shield to the Chairperson Jehan Ara Trust Zareen Arif for her services to the ailing humanity. Project Director Fatima Memorial Trust gave a briefing regarding administrative affairs of the hospital, provision of free medical facilities to the patients and other issues. Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated the free emergency ward for the children.
