Lahore: Chairman Samanabad Town Emergency Response Committee on Dengue and Provincial Secretary Schools Muhammad Aslam Kamboh has stressed upon principals of all public and private schools to implement the instructions of education department for prevention against dengue in letter and spirit. He said that there is ban on wearing half sleeve shirts and shorts in school and stern action will be taken against school owners which fail to implement these instructions.
This was stated by him while addressing a meeting in Samanabad Town against dengue here today. Administrator Town Asfand Yar Baloch, TMO Zahid Javed Khan and officers of the concerned departments were also present. Provincial Secretary directed Director Monitoring Schools Rana Abdul Qayyum to check government and private institutions in Samanabad Town on daily basis and such schools should be sealed immediately which fail to implement the instructions regarding anti-dengue measures. He further directed that the store rooms and water tanks of schools should especially be checked during the visit.
Chairman Town Emergency Response Committee on Dengue Muhammad Aslam Kamboh further directed the officers to pay attention to measles as well. He stressed upon the health authorities to post health officers in union councils of the town on immediate basis for monitoring matters regarding measles and pay visits to schools as well as make arrangements for the vaccination of children upto 12 years of age against measles.
Provincial Secretary stressed upon the participants of the meeting to ensure their presence in the meetings being held regarding dengue and measles instead of sending any official to represent. He directed the officers to perform their duties efficiently and warn that action under PEEDA will be taken against the officers and staff showing negligence in this regard. Provincial Secretary Muhammad Aslam Kamboh directed WASA authorities to provide machinery to Solid Waste Management for immediately removing debris lying near rain water channel on Multan Road. Provincial Secretary also sought a report from the officers regarding the measures taken by them against dengue and measles during last one week.
