Pervez Musharraf does not deserve any leniency:Ameer JI

JI LAHORELahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that Pervez Musharraf did not deserve any leniency and he would soon meet his doom.

Addressing a workers convention at Nasir Bagh Friday evening, he said that all those who had staked the independence and sovereignty of Pakistan and acted on the US dictation had met a terrible fate and Pervez Musharaf would not be a different case.

He said that in Egypt, Tunis and Libya and Morocco, the masses had thrown the US agents out of power and the same story would be repeated in the country very soon.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the forthcoming elections would be a contest between the pro-US and anti-US forces, therefore the masses should wipe out the American lobby once for all and Pakistan would soon be leading the Muslim world as an independent, sovereign and respectable state.

The JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, Hafiz Salman Butt and Mian Maqsood Ahmed, also spoke on the occasion.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the US designs in the region had completely failed and the time would soon come when the US and its allies wont find any place of shelter here.

The JI Ameeer said that the root cause of all the ills prevailing in Pakistan including corruption, was the US interference and the slavery of the IMF and the World Bank.

He said that the acute energy crisis in the country could be overcome only by an honest and patriotic leadership, and added that if the masses wanted to get rid of load shedding, they should vote for the JI .

Continuing, the JI Ameer declared that the nation wont tolerate the postponement of the elections on any excuse. He said that the care taker government, the armed forces, the judiciary and the political parties desired elections on schedule. Therefore, the delay of the polls could not be allowed at all.

He said that the JI had made sincere efforts for seat adjustment with other parties but this was considered the JI’s weakness. He said that no single party was in a position to secure simple majority in the assembly to be able to form government.
