Lahore: Ombudsman Punjab Javaid Mahmood has taken notice of news items regarding deaths of children due to measles in various cities of the province and directed Advisor Ombudsman Punjab Rana Amanullah Khan to conduct a detailed inquiry in this regard.
Ombudsman Punjab has directed the Inquiry Officer to also pay special attention to the steps which were utmost essential for controlling the measles but were not taken immediately.
He has also directed to complete the inquiry within seven days. On the directive of Ombudsman Punjab, Advisor Amanullah Khan has called for an immediate report from Director General Health Services Punjab about the deaths caused due to measles and the steps taken for eradication of this virus.
