Lahore: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has provided educated and enlightened youth leaders to the country by imparting free quality education to the deserving children at their doorstep. Similarly, the educational endeavors of the foundation have greatly helped to eradicate the menace of child labour at the grassroots.
Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Raja Anwar stated this while talking to a 7-member at his office on Monday. Raja Anwar said that the foundation has developed a composite mechanism of arranging quality education to the needy children living in less-developed and education-wise backward areas of the province. This has helped in poverty alleviation as well, he pointed out.
Raja Anwar said that promotion of quality education for all the children is imperative to eradicate poverty from our society and added that the education is a fundamental right which helps to develop educated leadership to steer the country to prosperity and development. PEF Chairman told that the share of girl students is 52 percent in PEF partner schools and said that this shows the tremendous response of the girls towards education. He impressed upon the parents to send their children to schools as this would not only benefit them but would also facilitate the society. Achievement of 100 percent literacy rate should be our top most priority and all the organs of society should supplement Punjab government’s efforts for increasing literacy rate, he concluded.
On the occasion, the educationists appreciated the Punjab government’s educational policies and said that PEF model is very beneficial to the poor children.
