Punjab government completed its five years tenure with honesty:Shahbaz Sharif

CM PUNJAB (2)Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Punjab government of Pakistan Muslim League-N has completed development programmes, worth Rs. 481 billions, throughout the province during the last five years, which include mega projects, worth Rs. 196 billion and smaller development projects worth Rs. 285 billion. He said six times more funds have been spent on the progress, prosperity and development of people of south Punjab, as compared to the previous era. He said, during previous five years, only Rs. 52 billion were spent on the development of south Punjab, while Punjab government of PML-N during its tenure has utilized a sum of Rs. 290 billion on the prosperity and development of south Punjab.

He said all development projects of Punjab government speak volumes about quality, transparency and speed. He said Punjab government has completed its five years tenure with honesty, dedication and public service, during which the cooperation of leaders and workers of PML-N remained highly laudable. He said the way Punjab government of PML-N has served the people of Punjab with dedication, hard work, honesty and determination is unprecedented in the democratic history of Pakistan.

Chief Minister was talking to party leaders and workers belonging to Faisalabad at Central Secretariat of Pakistan Muslim League-N, at Model Town today. Chaudhary Sher Ali, Abid Sher Ali, Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar, Saira Afzal Tarar, Ghulam Dastagir Khan, Begum Ishrat Ashraf, Rana Sanaullah Khan, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, President of PML-N Faisalabad Mian Qasam Farooq and other leaders were present on the occasion.

Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said transparency and merit is the hallmark of Punjab government, which had voluntarily asked Transparency International Pakistan to check its three big projects including metro bus, Ujala programme and laptop scheme, worth over Rs. 36 billion, for transparency, and we bow in gratitude before Allah Almighty, that Transparency International Pakistan has given certificate of transparency to Punjab government, which is a matter of great honor. He said, for the first time in the 65 years history of Pakistan, any government had voluntarily submitted itself for accountability.

He said Punjab government has spent national resources, as a sacred trust for the development of the people while no step has been taken for personal grandeur. He said we have changed the work culture in Punjab, and have established unprecedented example of working day and night on development projects and completing them before time. He said complete attention was paid to transparency and use of quality material during implementation of metro bus project, bridges and construction of underpasses. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said people are the best judge and they would give their verdict on the performance of Punjab government of PML-N on 11th May. He said, in the wake of development steps taken by Punjab government, standard of living of the people of the province has been raised, while transparency and good governance of Punjab government has also been appreciated by international institutions.

Chief Minister said the achievement of goals of progress and prosperity in Punjab province is the result of best team effort, due to which Punjab government is facing the court of people with great pride, after its five years tenure. He vowed that, if Allah Almighty gave another opportunity to serve the masses, the journey of progress and prosperity, initiated in the Punjab, would be carried to every nook and corner of the country, under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N had submitted the names of honest and best personalities with regard to caretaker setup in Punjab, upon which the whole nation is unanimous, however the names submitted by Peoples Party are unacceptable as Peoples Party has not given name of any serious personality. Chief Minister said Pakistan Muslim League-N would field best candidates in the forthcoming general elections, who would also take oath that they fulfill all stipulated conditionalities laid down by the Pakistan Election Commission.

Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N would achieve a vigorous success, throughout the country, in forthcoming general elections, while looters and thieves would be completely rejected by the people.
