Secretary Health constitutes committee for epidemiological investigation of swine flu

Lahore: Secretary Health Punjab Arif Nadeem has constituted a 4-member technical committee, comprising of senior medical experts, for epidemiological investigation of swine flu virus in Rawalpindi. The committee will submit its reports, within three days, after complete scrutiny of the record of Holy Family Hospital, and technical analysis of the situation.

A spokesman of the Punjab Health Department informed that Director Health Communicable Disease Control Dr. Mubashir Malik is the convener of the committee, while EDO (Health) Rawalpindi, Dr. Zafar Gondal, Associate Professor Rawalpindi Medical College, Dr. M. Khurram and Medical Officer of Directorate General Health Services Dr. Muhammad Younis would be the members of the technical committee. The spokesman further said that Health Department has again issued directions to all public hospitals to adopt precautionary measures against swine flu, according to the guidelines issued by the Health Department.

The spokesman further said that preventive kits and special dresses have also been provided to all the hospitals for the doctors and paramedics by the Punjab Health Department. Furthermore, necessary medicines used for treatment of swine flu patients have also been available in all the hospitals.
