DG Rescue inaugurates International Inter-Safe Conference

Lahore: The Director General Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr. Rizwan Naseer and Senator Tariq Azeem inaugurated 2013th International INTERSAFE Fire Rescue and Disaster Management Trade Fair and Conference at EXPO Center in Lahore on Wednesday where the DG Rescue stressed the citizens especially owning and residing in high rise buildings and working industries to visit this exhibition as the knowledge gained from this exhibition may one day save their life.

Dr. Rizwan Naseer visited the stalls in which local and international firms have displayed the emergency equipments including Ambulances, Fire Vehicles, Water Rescue Vans and above all Fire Safety and preventive equipments. He said that this was heartening to see the participation of national and international firms and was glad to see advancements in equipment in last couple of years.

Although, Rescue 1122 had established in Modern Fire Service, which has responded to over 40, 000 fire cases and saved loss over Rs 122 billion, however, there is need to prevent unfortunate incidents like those witnessed in recent past on September 11, 2012, on Bund Road, Lahore, and Baldia Town, Karachi, which claimed 300 lives. Therefore, in accordance with the Building-by laws, Fire Safety arrangements need to be ensured.

In the developed countries, the numbers of fire incidents have been significantly reduced and now 90 percent work of Fire Services revolved around Fire Prevention activities in high rise buildings and factories. He said, “We should avoid such self-created potential disasters of the future. He also visited different stalls which mainly included: Haseen Habib, Pakistan, DAWN Scientific Company, FireTech, UAE, Ahmed Medix, Pakistan, Plum Qingchi Motors, Mansha Brothers, City Links, Civil Defence, NAFFCO, USA, KND Corporation, Nomex, Samsung, Ma’Aref, American Safety, Network of Barry Group, Raiha Infosys, Pakistan, and others.
