Lahore: Senior Vice President Jamiat-e-Ulema Pakistan (JUP) Maulana Shah Muhammad Awais Noorani, Chairman Supreme Council Pir Ijaz Ahmad Hashmi and Central General Secretary Qari Zawar Bahadur called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Model Town today and discussed overall political situation of the country and matters relating to cooperation in general elections. Agreeing on cooperation in general elections between Pakistan Muslim League-N and Jamiat-e-Ulema Pakistan, a committee was found on the occasion comprising Khawaja Saad Rafique, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and Zaeem Hussain Qadri of PML-N and Pir Ijaz Ahmad Hashmi, Qari Zawar Bahadur and Dr. Javed Awan of JUP. It was agreed in the meeting that as PML-N and JUP are the founder parties of Pakistan, they will jointly block the way of looters and corrupt elements in general elections.
Welcoming the harmony and cooperation in general elections between PML-N and JUP, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is facing serious challenges like terrorism and extremism and is passing through a critical phase therefore forthcoming next general elections are of critical importance in the history of the country. He said that these elections are for the survival of the country and he is confident that people will bring forward a sincere and honest leadership in general elections. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Zaeem Hussain Qadri were also present in the meeting.
