JI appeals for observing Day of Penitence on Friday

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has appealed to the nation to observe Youm e Istisghfar and Dua ( Day of penitence and prayer) on Friday, March 122, to seek Allah Almighty’s forgiveness for our sins and
to pray for better days.

syed munawar hasan & Dr M MursiIn a statement here on Monday, he said that the country was passing through most critical period of its history. Blood of innocent people was being shed all over the country and the public wealth had been plundered mercilessly. The whole country was in the grip of terrorism, lawlessness and anarchy. The political leaders and the rulers were mostly corrupt and lacked the vision that could steer the country out of the present mess.

The nation suffered from sectarian, ethnic and regional groupings and each group had its selfish interests. Conspiracies against the country’s sovereignty and existence were being hatched openly and there was common talk of the defeat of the country’s ideology and geographical split. Unfortunately, there was none to check these. He said that all these factors were the cause of divine wrath. The nation in general had forgotten Allah Almighty and was seeking the solution of its problems only through material means.

The JI Ameer said that apparently the power during the last five year had been in the hands of peoples elected representatives, but the plight of the masses deteriorated with very passing day and even their life and property were not secure. The situation called for turning back to Allah Almighty in penitence individually as well as collectively.
