Punjab and Sindh governments are planning to hang on to power :Imran Khan

Imran KhanLahore: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan on Friday expressed serious apprehension that Punjab and Sindh governments are planning to hang on to power for as long as possible. This self serving behavior is against the spirit of the constitution because it envisages a neutral set during elections. He said that “free and fair elections cannot be held if these governments continue to cling to power. They are making a variety of excuses so that they can continue with their politics of “thaanas and kachairis and misuse of government machinery.”

Khan further added that this would provide an ample opportunity to the provincial governments to influence the results of the general elections. The Chairman PTI further observed that “if PML-N is allowed to function even after the dissolution of national assembly, it would give them sweeping powers to carry out massive pre poll rigging and they would also victimize and harass the candidates of their opponent parties pressurizing them to change their loyalties. PML-N did the same in by-polls.”

Imran Khan also added that this is a tactic to sabotage the PTI jalsa being planned for the 23rd of March 2013 as the Sharifs would stoop to any level to maintain their hold in the Punjab. “However we are not afraid as this time the people of Pakistan will be the deciding factor. The will stand by our ideology and the zeal to turn Jinnah’s dream into a reality.” PTI is all geared up to fight against the status quo and the battle will begin on the 23rd of March which will be a day when the country’s fate will be decided.
