A public meeting should not be declared a war :Pervaiz Rasheed

Lahore: Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that terming the public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan as the war of Panipat by Imran Khan reflects his fascist mentality. He said that Imran Khan expresses his cheap mentality in his choice of words as a result of which, wealth, coercion and rigging were displayed during party elections.

Commenting upon the statement of Imran Khan, Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that declaring and Minar-e-Pakistan as the field “Panipat” will further increase intolerance. Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that Imran Khan should know that in democracy, there is no “Panipat”. He said that Imran Khan says such things in fiery statements which have no link with reality. He said that Imran Khan should first do justice with Tehrik-e-Insaaf as there are ‘elections’ in democracy and not ‘war’ whereas Imran Khan seems to be bent upon making a historical and respectable place like Minar-e-Pakistan as ‘war field’.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that the elections are going to be held in the near future and every political party will have an opportunity to take part in it and judge its popularity according to democratic process. He said that Imran Khan should also display patience and participate in this process. He said that Imran Khan should refrain from boasting and meeting tall claims. He said that the election results will make it clear that to whom majority of the people supports. He said that giving rosy picture and displaying practical performance are two different things and this difference will soon be clear to Imran Khan.
