Lahore: Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Lahore, Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial has taken of Daily Express Tribune published on 18-02-2013 regarding an incident of abducted of woman in Sialkot. Hon’ble CJ has directed District & Sessions Judge Sialkot to send a comprehensive report regarding steps taken by the Sialkot police along with his own comments in the matter within a week.
According to the details, the woman’s husband, Muhammad Ashraf, resident of Rao Area in Sialkot said that the landlord’s son and his mother abducted his wife and also took away cash and gold jewellery. He further stated that after the incident he visited the Police Station for lodging FIR but the police did not lodge FIR for 18 days. He further claimed that after lodging the FIR after a considerable time, rather than arresting the kidnappers and recovering his wife, the police has been threatening him of dire consequences instead of doing the needful. This news caught attention of Hon’ble CJ and who sought a detailed report from D& SJ, Sialkot along with steps taken by the local police within a week..
