Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that corrupt politicians carrying the begging bowl .
Had the people having been in power as many as four times the ability to set the things right, the nation would not have been facing the present crises, he said while addressing the participants of the JI central workshop at Mansoora on Thursday.
He said, if the Jamaat e Islami was voted to power, Pakistan would emerge as a true Islamic state and won’t need to spread its hands before any power for any sort of help, while the energy crisis, poverty, unemployment and price hike would be overcome within a short time.
He said, the JI had decided to give up politics of alliances and contest election on its own symbol in order to preserve its identity, however, the support of nuclear scientist Dr A. Qadeer Khan would be a source of great strength for the JI.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the goal of self reliance and sovereignty could not be achieved without eliminating hereditary politics, and added that if only a few dozen corrupt politicians lost their securities in the next elections, the exploitative system continuing for years would end.
He further said that the hue and cry from politicians over Election Commission’s amendments in the nomination papers to weed out the tax evaders, defaulters, fake degree holders, etc. from the election contest proved that they were deeply entrenched in corruption and fraud. He was however confident that the Election Commission, enjoying the full backing of the Supreme Court, would go ahead with its plans.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that poverty in the country was only due to the shameless and cowardly rulers who had pledged the homeland before the IMF and the World Bank. The same was the case of many other Muslim countries, he added. The US, he said, had shed the blood of millions only to thrust its New World Order over the world but its dream had been shattered by the Afghans.
He said that the ruler’s non serious attitude on the Balochistan situation had provided an opportunity to the US to meddle in the province while India had been sending saboteurs there to cause disruption. The US wanted to benefit from Pakistan’s strategic location for keeping China and Iran under pressure and to increase its influence in the Central Asians states, he said, and added that only a vigilant leadership that had the courage to see the infidel powers eye to eye could improve the conditions in the country.
The JI Ameer impressed upon the masses to treat elections as Jehad and accept it a challenge for change.
