Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif today laid the foundation stone of Qutab Shahana Bridge on river Ravi to link Sahiwal with Faisalabad. The project is estimated to cost one billion 63 crore and 50 lakh rupees and will be completed within 18 months. The Chief Minister also offered dua after laying the foundation stone.
The Chief Minister was given a briefing about the project. Chief Engineer Highways informed the Chief Minister that the construction of the bridge will reduce the distance between Sahiwal and Faisalabad by 33 kilometer which will save money, time and fuel. The total length of Qutab Shahana bridge will be 1650 feet while it will be 24 feet wide. Provincial Minister for Zakat and Ushr Malik Nadeem Kamran, Member National Assembly Pir Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Regional Police Officer, DCO, DPO, Chief Engineer High Way and workers of Pakistan Muslim League-N as well as notables of the area were present on the occasion.
