BMWT committed to empower poor widows

Harripur: BMWT Team distributes food items to the needy widowsBegum Mehmooda Welfare Trust (BMWT) is focused on developing and strengthening the rural areas women of neglected areas of the country. This was remarked by Begum Mehmooda Welfare Trust Chief Executive and Co-Founder, Hina Fysal while distributing ration packs to the poor and needy widows of Sanghra and Desra Harripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Every month, the Trust ensures timely provision of ration packs for free to these women, widowed due to increasing diseases and poverty in these areas. These widows have no regular source of income or cultivating land to earn livelihood for themselves and children.

These highly populated and hilly villages are neglected with clean water, infrastructure and employment opportunities. During the last three months, more than 1000 families have been provided ration packs including Wheat (40kg) and Ghee (5kg)

Since establishment, the Trust under its food support program delivers fodder to the neglected segments of society to enable them to contribute effectively in betterment and growth of their children and other family members. Hina Fysal said, the Trust would continue providing food until they stand on their on feet because their limited income sources have made their lifer miserable. The government and other non-government institutions should join hands with the Trust to bring improvement in their lives.

The Begum Mehmooda Welfare Trust (BMWT) is a non-profit organization established under Trust Act of Pakistan. This family-driven trust was purposely started and has been working since many years to bring positive and lasting changes to the people in need and distress.
