JI will not attend APC called by ANP’s :Liaqat Baloch

Liaqat baloch 2Lahore: The Jamaat e Islami, will not participate in the All Parties Conference convened by the ANP which is a political gimmick to hide ANP’s misdeeds during the five years as a coalition partner with the PPP, JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, said here on Tuesday. He was addressing the party workers from FATA, Karachi and Balochistan, attending the JI central workshop at Mansoora, on Tuesday.

Liaqat Baloch said that the ANP had been in the government for the last five years and during this period, it had always been following the US dictation and had maintained a criminal silence on the bloodletting of the Pakhtoons. It had practically supported the US imperialism and the drone attacks and Black Water conspiracies. Now that its term in office was ending, the ANP wanted to use the APC to hide its black deeds and clear its position.

Liaqat Baloch further said that the so called Ulema Conference in Afghanistan was also being held at the behest of the US and therefore, the genuine and true Ulema of Pakistan wont attend that.

Liaqat Baloch said that this was not the time for APCs or Ulema Conferences, instead, this was the time for the US to pull out from Afghanistan, stop drone attacks and allow the Afghan people to decide their affairs for themselves.

In reply to a question, Liaqat Baloch said that elections were inevitable in the present situation, and no worldly power could delay the polls. He also warned that any unconstitutional measure at this juncture would be tantamount to the murder of democracy, the constitution and the judiciary.

He further said that the Election Commission enjoyed the confidence of all political and democratic parties in the countries . The representatives of all the parties had been attending the Election Commission meetings and had reposed their trust in the Commission.
He further said that the Supreme Court of Pakistan was handling Dr Tahirul Qadri’s petition in accordance with the law and the constitution. He said the country was passing through a critical time and could not afford any adventure.
