Lahore: Ameer Jamaat e Islami Pakistan Syed Munawar Hassan, has said that certain forces had ganged up to delay the elections and a for prolonged care taker government, therefore, the nation and the democratic parties should unite to foil such a conspiracy.
Addressing the delegates from Khyber P, attending the JI central workshop at Mansoora on Tuesday, he said that there was deliberate attempt to create instability in the country and the government had not given any solid and clear strategy for the elections so far. The term of the assemblies was expiring after a month, but the date for the dissolution of the assemblies and the elections had not been announced as yet. This was giving rise to numerous questions and apprehensions.
The JI Ameer stressed that the Pakistan government and the armed forces should give a positive response to the Taliban’s offer for talks and added that issues were decided through talks and not by war. He condemned the continuing target killings in Karachi and said the port city was in the grip of the target killers and the people of the city felt themselves insecure. He said the situation in Karachi and Sindh called for a reviews of the PPP’s policy of reconciliation and the immediate removal of the Sindh Governor to restore peace in the province and Karachi.
