Metro Bus Project is a glorious example of Pak-Turk friendship:CM Punjab

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that metro bus is a splendid public welfare project which has been completed in a record period of time. He said that metro bus project is a unique example of transparency, speed and high standard and such a project has never been executed in 65 years history of the country. He said that a new history has been written by working day and night on the project and labourers, contractors and concerned authorities have achieved an impossible task. He said that metro bus service will be free for the people during the first four weeks.

He was presiding over a high level meeting regarding metro bus project at Model Town today. Members National Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Pervez Malik, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Kh. Imran Nazir, Mian Muhammad Nawman, Secretary Information, MD Punjab Metro Bus Authority, Commissioner Lahore Division, DG LDA and other authorities concerned were present on the occasion. The meeting reviewed the pace of progress of the project in detail.
The Chief Minister said that a new history of commitment and determination has been written by working round the clock on metro bus project. He said this project will bring about revolutionary changes in transport sector and modern, comfortable and economical travelling facilities will become available to the masses. He said that the project has been completed as a noble mission and it is the most important project with regard to standard, transparency and speed in the history of the country. He said that metro bus project will be inaugurated on February 10 at a simple but graceful ceremony and arrangements are being finalized for this purpose. The Chief Minister directed that security, traffic and other arrangements should be excellent for the inauguration ceremony of the project which is a milestone in transport sector. He said that metro bus project is a gift to the people which will completely change the public transport culture. He said that metro bus project will bring happiness and relief to the people who have extended commendable cooperation in the execution of project.

The Chief Minister also thanked the Turk President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and Mayor Istanbul Kadir Tobpas for their cooperation for the project. He said that metro bus project is a glorious example of Pak-Turk friendship. He said that every project of Punjab government is a living proof of the transparency, merit and standard. He said that metro bus project is an important step towards establishment of the country as was envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. The Chief Minister directed authorities concerned to make foolproof arrangements for the inaugural ceremony. The meeting also reviewed various proposals regarding inaugural ceremony.
