GIZ meets Federal Minister for education and training

Islamabad: The head of education department German International Cooperation (GIZ) met Federal Minister for education and training Seikh Waqqas Akram at his office today. She briefed the minister about their educational sector programs which included policy and planning, text books, learning materials and curriculum reforms.

GIZ has been providing technical assistance to Pakistan since 2004.Before the implementation of18th amendment GIZ has been implementing National Basic education policy program (NBEPP) in partnership with the former ministry of education .After the devolution it has been working closely with Provincial Govt. for technical support. The recent visit by the GIZ head of education department carries great significance, as it shows the commitment of the German Govt. to the educational sector development in Pakistan. The Federal Minister appreciated the efforts of GIZ and said that it had a phenomenal contribution to the education sector in Pakistan .He thanked the visiting head of GIZ education department program and assured his support and assistance.
