Homage paid to Qazi Husain Ahmed

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the government and the Opposition had to decide the composition of the interim government through mutual consultation.
He welcomed the Opposition decision to take all the political parties on board in regard to the formation of the interim government.

Syed Munawar Hasan was addressing a reference in memory of former JI Ameer, Qazi Husain Ahmed, held at Nowshera on Thursday, at which rich homage was paid to the deceased leader for his struggle to wipe out injustice and ignorance, for the Muslim unity an the revival of the Islam glory.Syed Munawar Hasan said, the nation won’t accept any formula except the interim government formed with the consensus of all the parties.He said that Dr Tahirul Qadri’s long march had added to the disappointment of the masses. He said the JI count not support the demand for changing the Chief Election Commissioner. He said the CEC was appointed for a five year term and the present CEC could not be removed only to advance of the agenda of a foreign national.

The JI Ameer said that there was a possibility of the emergence of new electoral alliance with the announcement of the election schedule, and there would also be seat adjustments between different parties. He said the JI workers wanted their party to contest under its own banner and symbol, however a decision in this respect would be taken keeping in view the objective conditions.Syed Munawar Hasan said the JI wing of the Khyber P had decided not to attend the All Parties Conference called by the ANP and the JI at the centre endorsed this decision .

Those who paid homage to Qazi Husain Ahmed on the occasion included JI provincial chief Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, JI Nowshera chief, Merajud advocate, and Asif Luqman Qazi.
